Comments – The top two pictures don’t do this hamster justice. From the photo looking from above, you can see the hamster has decent type, but the other photos leave room for doubt. The color is dark, and the crescents are barely noticeable. This hamster’s score could be significantly different when judged in person.

Comments – The color is a bit dull and lacks ticking on this hamster. The
head is a bit long and pointed, but the breadth in the body is good.

Comments – This hamster looks like she might be pregnant, and the photos do not make judging this hamster easy. The cheekflashes are short and the
crescents hardly noticeable. She needs a shorter face and blunter nose. If
she is not pregnant, she is overweight which will affect her condition score.
Judging this hamster in person may lead to a significantly different score
given the unknowns (and she should never be brought to a show if she is
pregnant).

Comments – This female is one of the better ones to see the
cobbiness/roundness required by the standard. You can see the breadth of her
body in the top two photos, and although her head could be larger in
proportion to her body, she is one of the better examples of breadth in her
body and skull that we have entered in the show. Note the difference between
her and the last entry who looked pregnant. This one has the broadness
through her body including her head and shoulders although she may be about as
large around the hips as the above hamster (#146). Her markings are strong.
She may be a bit out of her prime, but this is a nice animal and would be an
asset to most any breeding program.

Comments – Note the difference in the heads of this hamster and the previous one (#114) in the head-on views. The previous hamster has a broader skull. The previous hamster also has much better color and markings including cheekflashes and ticking although this one retains nice contrast as seen by the crescents. This female has nice type and is still a nice animal, but you can see how strong the previous hamster is by comparing these two.

Comments – This female has a short face but lacks some of the breadth in her skull and bluntness in her nose that would strengthen her type score. Her head is also a bit small in comparison to her body. Cheekflashes are a bit short, and there is limited contrast in the crescents. This is a nice animal.

Comments – The color is a bit weaker and browner in this female than theprevious one (#136) although part of it could be the lighting in the photos. You can see a nice fullness in the face which many entered lack although the head could be broader and larger in proportion to the body.

Comments – This female definitely appears pregnant. The type appears to be good, and the head is definitely broad. I suspect this female has nice type when not pregnant, but it’s impossible to judge given these pictures with her late in her pregnancy. The color looks nice although the markings are a bit weak, and the size looks good. The eyes are a bit small.
